CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

¯ BROCTON — Paul J. Illenz, 43, of Brocton was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief. Deputies responded Sunday at 5:29 p.m. to an altercation in Brocton. An investigation found that Illenz allegedly damaged property that did not belong to him. He was taken for centralized arraignment at the Chautauqua County Jail.

¯ FORESTVILLE — Robert Congdon, 40, of Forestville was charged with driving while intoxicated and failure to stop at a stop sign. Deputies stopped a vehicle Sunday at 8:24 p.m. on Main Street in Forestville for a traffic violation. Congdon was found to be driving in an intoxicated condition. He is scheduled to appear in Hanover Town Court at a later date to answer the charges.

JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Jzon Matve, 19, of Jamestown was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana. Brandon Ellis, 20, of Jamestown was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and numerous vehicle and traffic violations. Officers observed a white male driving Monday identified as Ellis, who was known to be wanted on a felony warrant for second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. The vehicle allegedly drove off at a high rate of speed, resulting in numerous counts of failure to signal and failure to stop at a stop sign. The vehicle was eventually stopped in the area of Winsor and Orchard streets. Matve was identified as the passenger in the vehicle. Officers reported finding 26 grams of marijuana in the vehicle. Both were taken to Jamestown City Jail and held for arraignment.

NEW YORK STATE POLICE

¯ OLEAN — Glenn E. Hopkins, 61, of Allegany was charged with driving while intoxicated. Hopkins was stopped Sunday on Homer Street in Olean. Hopkins allegedly exhibited obvious signs of intoxication. He reportedly failed field sobriety tests at the scene and later provided a breath sample of .09 percent. Hopkins was released to appear in Olean City Court at a later date.

¯ OLEAN — Anthony R. Driskell, 30, of Olean was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation. Oakley L. Phearsdorf, 35, of Olean was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana. Troopers stopped a vehicle Saturday on South 16th Street in Olean, and during a search Driskell was found in possession of suboxone while Phearsdorf was found in possession of suboxone and marijuana. Both were processed and released to appear in Olean City Court later.
