CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

¯ FRENCH CREEK — Hannah E. Dougherty, 26, of Independence, Ohio, was charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI per se, failure to signal a turn and moving from lane unsafely. Deputies observed a vehicle fail to sign a turn Sunday at 1:57 a.m. in the town of French Creek. Dougherty was charged following an investigation and is scheduled to appear in French Creek Town Court at a later date.

¯ ARKWRIGHT — William L. Seitz, 66, of Angola was charged with DWI, DWI per se, moving from lane unsafely, backing unsafely consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle and deposited refuse on highway. Deputies responded Tuesday at 7:47 p.m. for a reported crash on Center Road in Arkwright. Following an investigation, Seitz was allegedly found to be operating his vehicle in an intoxicated condition. Seitz was released to appear in court at a later date to answer the charges.

ELLICOTT POLICE

¯ Tara L. Schulz, 31, was charged with petit larceny and endangering the welfare of a child at 11:20 a.m. Wednesday after Ellicott police were called to a report of a shoplifting in progress at Wegmans. Officers report arriving at the scene to find Schulz and a 12-year-old had been detained by Wegmans loss prevention employees. Schulz will be in Ellicott Town Court later.

¯ Brandon M. Gifford, 35, of Falconer was charged with second-degree harassment and endangering the welfare of a child Wednesday after officers responded to a past-tense domestic incident in Falconer. Gifford allegedly subjected a person to physical contact at a time when a child less than 17 years of age was present. An arrest warrant was issued, Gifford was charged and taken to the Chautauqua County jail pending centralized arraignment. Gifford will be in Ellicott Town Court later.

¯ Randall Maynard, 60, of Kennedy was charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI per se, failure to use a turn signal and unlicensed operator at 7:20 p.m. Thursday after a vehicle was pulled over in Falconer for a traffic violation. Maynard will be in Ellicott Town Court later.

¯ Jacob Jones of Kennedy was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana after a traffic stop at 4:15 p.m. Feb. 10. Police report Jones was a passenger in the vehicle. Jones will be in Ellicott Town Court later.

¯ Jennifer L. Stewart, 34, was charged with second-degree harassment on Wednesday after an alleged altercation on Feb. 8. Police report Stewart allegedly hit another person several times during the alleged incident. Stewart will be in Ellicott Town Court later.
