Two loaded handguns reported stolen from Ellicott were recovered and two people are facing charges, the Jamestown Police Department said late Saturday.
Taken into custody were 34-year-old Douglas P. Beardsley and 19-year-old Camille L. Lopez after officers with the Jamestown and Ellicott police departments executed a search warrant Saturday around 2 p.m. at 70 Forest Ave. Inside police found the handguns, which were reported stolen during a burglary of an Ellicott home.
Police were assisted by members of the Jamestown SWAT Team.
Beardsley and Lopez were each charged with two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of stolen property and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Police said a quantity of crystal methamphetamine, cash and scales were also found in the search.
The investigation is ongoing and additional arrests and charges are pending, Jamestown police said.
