CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

¯ SHERMAN — Andrew J. Newman, 49, of Westfield was charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated driving while intoxicated with a BAC of .18 percent or higher, refusal of a pre-screen breath test, unlawful possession of marijuana and failure to signal turn. Deputies stopped a vehicle at 1:50 a.m. Saturday on Route 76 in Sherman for a traffic violation. Newman was allegedly found to be intoxicated and in possession of an amount of marijuana. He was was processed and released to appear in Sherman Town Court at a later date.

¯ SHERIDAN — James S. Meehan Jr., 22, of Versailles, N.Y., was charged with DWI, DWI per se and refusal of a pre-screen breath test. Deputies stopped a vehicle at 2:20 a.m. on Saturday in Sheridan for speeding. Following an investigation, Meehan was found to be intoxicated. He was released with appearance tickets to be in Sheridan Town Court at a later date.

¯ RIPLEY — Scott A. Walker, 39, of Ripley, turned himself into sheriff’s deputies at the Westfield Police Department on warrants issued in Ripley Town Court. On Dec. 25 at about 3:30 p.m., Walker allegedly entered a home where he wasn’t welcome and began an altercation with a resident. He left the scene before deputies arrived. Walker was charged with second-degree burglary, criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation, endangering the welfare of a child and second-degree harassment. He was arraigned in North Harmony Town Court and remanded to Chautauqua County Jail. He is scheduled to appear in Ripley Town Court at a later date.

¯ DUNKIRK — Cody A. DiDomenico, 25, of Jamestown was charged with petit larceny and fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property. Deputies received a shoplifting complaint at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday that took place at a business on Vineyard Drive in the town of Dunkirk. Deputies located the vehicle involved on Fredonia Stockton Road in the town of Pomfret. DiDomenico allegedly stole $945.88 worth of merchandise from the business. Deputies were able to recover all of the alleged stolen property. DiDomenico was also found to have an outstanding warrant from New York State Parole. He was taken to the county jail where he was held for arraignment on the parole warrant. Deputies were assisted by state troopers.

¯ SINCLAIRVILLE — Alexander R. Cieplinski, 26, of Jamestown was charged with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia, unlawful possession of marijuana, failure to stop at a stop sign and unregistered motor vehicle. Deputies stopped a vehicle Saturday at 8:56 p.m. on Maple Street in Sinclairville for failing to stop at a stop sign. Cieplinski was allegedly found in possession of LSD, Psilocybin mushrooms and MDMA. Cieplinski was also allegedly found to be in possession of multiple scales and marijuana. He was arraigned in Stockton Town Court and remanded to jail.

LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Dawn M. Earll, 59, of Jamestown was charged with petit larceny. Officers were called to Walmart on Dec. 23. Earll allegedly stole multiple items with a total value of $46.54. Earll was issued an appearance ticket to be in Busti Town Court at a later date to answer the charge.

JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Brendan McCulley, 25, of Jamestown was charged with second- and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Officers responded to Price and Burr streets Saturday at 12:10 a.m. for a weapons complaint. Police saw two men walking on Burr Place, one with a long rifle and McCulley with a gun case. Police found an AR-15 in the gun case with multiple large-capacity magazine. McCulley was transported to Jamestown City Jail and held for arraignment.
