JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Julia B. Lewis, 39, of Jamestown was charged on Aug. 7 with third-degree criminal mischief and second-degree menacing. At 5:20 p.m., police responded to 183 Fairmount Ave. No. 6 for a reported domestic dispute. Upon arrival, police determined that Lewis allegedly threatened to stab another person while brandishing a knife. She also allegedly damaged property belonging to another victim on scene. Lewis was taken to the city jail to await arraignment.

¯ Rick L. Dye, 27, of Jamestown was charged on Aug. 7 with driving while intoxicated, DWI per se, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, uninspected motor vehicle and unlawful possession of marijuana. At 12:38 a.m., police observed a vehicle parked in the area of Forest and Linden avenues that had sustained heavy rear-end damage from a recent accident. After speaking witnesses, police learned that a red Jeep struck the vehicle and fled the scene. Police located the Jeep in the area of Sprague and Steele streets, smoking heavily and leaking fluid. Police pulled over the vehicle and determined the driver, Dye, was allegedly intoxicated. He was taken to city jail and later released on bail.

¯ Tina M. Bemis, 47, of Sherman was charged on Aug. 8 with second-degree criminal trespass. At 5:57 p.m., police responded to an East Sixth Street address for an unwanted female refusing to leave. Upon arrival, police spoke with the victim who alleged that Bemis entered her residence and refused to leave. Bemis was taken to city jail to await arraignment.

NEW YORK STATE POLICE

¯ PORTLAND — Stephanie Metzler, 23, of Brocton was charged on Aug. 7 with second-degree assault and third-degree criminal mischief. Troopers responded to Westfield Hospital and interviewed the victim who claimed that Metzler approached her from behind and stabbed her in the neck with a knife. Metzler allegedly took the victim’s cell phone, smashed it on the ground and continued to assault her. The victim’s injuries were consistent with her claims and when the Troopers located Metzler, the assault weapon was located in her possession. Metzler was arraigned in Portland Court and remanded to the county court.
