Three residents — 22-year-old Kori D. Robinson and 25-year-old Bruce Page of the Buffalo area and 20-year-old Islandah N. Mitchell of Jamestown — were taken into custody following the stop Monday around 3 p.m. on North Main Street at Lamont Street for several traffic violations.

A search of the vehicle turned up 3.5 ounces of powder cocaine and 4.7 ounces of crack cocaine. In a news release, the Jamestown Police Department said the cocaine had an estimated street value of $10,000 to $12,000, and “would have likely been sold within 24 hours.”

Mitchell, Robinson and Page were taken to Jamestown City Jail and held for arraignment.

All three are facing charges of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class B felony.

Capt. Robert Samuelson of the Jamestown Police Department told The Post-Journal the cocaine was likely targeted for local distribution.

“The group is believed to have likely trafficked these drugs from the city of Buffalo to be sold here in Jamestown,” Samuelson said. “This is a common trend that we have seen for many years here in Jamestown where drugs are brought here from outside areas to be sold here on our streets.”

JPD said the investigation remained ongoing, and additional charges were expected. Assisting in the arrests were members of the Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force and the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force.

In December 2016, Robinson was jailed after he discarded a loaded 9mm handgun during a foot pursuit with officers. He was apprehended and the weapon recovered was later linked to a burglary that had taken place in the city months earlier.

Just two weeks prior to that incident, Robinson was similarly pulled over for a traffic violation on Peach Street near Bowen Street. It is alleged that he didn’t have a driver’s license and was reportedly in possession of crack cocaine and a large amount of cash.
