City Man Faces Arson Charges

A city man is facing arson charges after a fire that seriously injured its occupant late Friday.

Charged was 49-year-old Danny Phanco with second-degree arson, second-degree criminal mischief and second-degree reckless endangerment after a fire was reported around 11:30 p.m. at 105 Weeks St.

An upstairs occupant was able to escape but was seriously burned. He was taken to ECMC in Buffalo.

An investigation found that Phanco “intentionally set” the fire, police told The Post-Journal. Additional charges are expected.

The property has already by razed, fire officials said.
