Wanted City Man Taken Into Custody

Christopher J. Light

A man on the Jamestown Police Department’s Top 10 most wanted list has been taken into custody.

In addition to being wanted for aggravated family offense and criminal obstruction of breathing/blood circulation, Christopher J. Light faces a slew of new charges after he was stopped by investigators around 1:40 p.m. Wednesday on Linden Avenue near Myrtle Street.

In a news release, the department said the 41-year-old was allegedly found with “a large quantity of methamphetamine and psilocybin mushrooms as well as paraphernalia commonly used in the distribution of drugs.”

Light was transported to Jamestown City Jail and held for arraignment on two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, two counts of criminally using drug paraphernalia, unregistered motor vehicle, uninspected motor vehicle and operating a vehicle with no insurance.

In April 2020, Light was charged with second-degree criminal contempt after he was found to have violated an order of protection against him during a traffic stop on Route 60 in the town of Gerry.

The city man was then indicted Nov. 9 of last year on two counts of felony first-degree criminal contempt.
