WARREN, Pa. — Less than a week after the father of a 2-month-old was charged and jailed for allegedly assaulting that child in Warren County, the child’s mother is also under arrest.

Jade I. Lord, 20, of 15 Elm St., Warren is charged with one felony count and one misdemeanor count of endangering the welfare of children. Jarred D. Blauser, 19, of 15 Elm St., was charged on Wednesday with two counts of aggravated assault and two counts of endangering the welfare of children.

According to court documents, Blauser admitted to striking a 2-month-old child on June 8 while the child was left in his care for about 45 minutes.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, Lord discovered bruises on the child and confronted Blauser. She told police Blauser had admitted “he slapped the child.”

The child was taken to Warren General Hospital. Emergency room staff reported multiple injuries and the child was transported to Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh for further testing, according to the affidavit.

The mother alleged that Blauser had also “about two weeks ago … struck her 3-year-old daughter and gave her a black eye,” according to the affidavit.

In the affidavit in Lord’s case, police said “the defendant admitted that Blauser had anger issues and does get carried away at times.”

Blauser is also charged with striking a 3-year-old, left under his supervision by Lord “about two weeks ago,” and giving that child a black eye.

Lord “stated that she knew this occurred and still allowed Blauser to live with them and watch her children,” according to the affidavit.

Lord was arraigned Monday before District Judge Raymond Zydonik.

During that procedure, Zydonik asked about the children. The 2-month-old was released from the hospital and has been returned home. The children are staying with family.

Zydonik explained the maximum penalties Lord could face from the two charges. The felony carries a maximum of seven years in prison and a $15,000 fine and the maximum on the misdemeanor is five years and a $10,000 fine.

Lord was taken to Warren County jail after failing to post $25,000.

Zydonik set some additional bail conditions on Lord, including that she have no contact with victims nor witnesses in the case and that she have no contact with anyone under the age of 18 at least until the time of her preliminary hearing.

That hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 23.
