AHN Cancer Institute At Saint Vincent To Present Cancer Survivorship Week
ERIE — The Allegheny Health Network Cancer Institute at Saint Vincent is inviting area cancer survivors and loved ones to participate in its Cancer Survivorship Week activities, running from June 6 to 12.
The week will kick off on June 6, National Cancer Survivors Day, with a virtual walk. The event is open to anyone and people can participate by simply taking a walk of any distance at any place or time. The Cancer Institute team is asking participants to take a photo of themselves or their group while share the photo on social media with #ahncelebratescancersurvivors to @ahntoday.
The lecture series will present programs online each night from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., including:
¯ Monday, June 7: “From Survivor to Thriver: Importance of Staying Connected,” presented by Dr. Gregory Rys;
¯ Tuesday, June 8: “Benefits of Medical Marijuana, presented by Dr. Joseph A. Leone III;
¯ Wednesday, June 9: “Getting the Facts on Fad Diets,” presented by Amanda Capor, MS, RD, LDN and Amanda El-Rawas, MS, RD, LDN; and
¯ Thursday, June 10: “Meditation,” presented by Bryan Warren.
