LAKEWOOD — Construction and concerns over parking have led to the postponement of the Lakewood Farmers Market this year. The market will return in 2022, Lakewood Mayor Randy Holcomb announced.

The mayor noted the Chautauqua Avenue construction project as the main reason for the postponement this year.

The market typically is held Thursdays throughout the summer at the corner of Summit and Chautauqua avenues.

“It is not conducive for the vendors, nor their customers, to attempt to get into the location for the market,” Holcomb said.

“Parking as well could be hazardous getting from vehicles into the market. Vendors would need to transport their goods a long distance also.

“Although market coordinators and vendors were looking forward to this season, they will be planning an exciting return in 2022 of the Farmers Market in downtown Lakewood.”
