10 New COVID Cases Reported In Dunkirk; 22 New Countywide
Twenty-two new cases of COVID-19 — including 10 in Dunkirk — were announced Thursday by the Chautauqua County Department of Health. Within the last week, there have been 114 new COVID-19 cases.
The additional new infections break down as follows: one in Falconer, three in Fredonia, two in Silver Creek, three in Forestville, two in Bemus Point and one in Cassadaga.
There remains 153 active cases for those who continue to recover under orders from local health officials as well as 21 people with the virus who have been hospitalized as of Tuesday.
At Tanglewood Manor, the site of a COVID-19 outbreak, the county Health Department said there remains four active cases among employees and 14 active cases among residents associated with the adult-care facility. To date, 23 employees and 75 residents have recovered; one resident has died.
The county Health Department said it is still investigating a cluster of cases in the north county, which were the result of a private event. At least 23 cases have been linked to the private event; four cases are active and 19 have recovered.
As of Thursday, there have been 984 total recoveries, 15 deaths and 1,152 total confirmed cases.
In Cattaraugus County, there are 509 total cases with nine new infections reported Wednesday evening. There were 111 active cases, 380 recoveries and 19 deaths. Since Nov. 1, there have been 27 new cases.
