The driver of a silver sedan was checked by members of the Lakewood Fire Department after striking a pole Monday afternoon. The mishap was reported around 1:15 p.m. in the parking lot of Applebee’s on Fairmount Avenue. The driver suffered only minor injuries and did not require transportation to the hospital. Firefighters were on scene for about a half hour.
