WESTFIELD — St. Peter’s Episcopal Church is hosting a 10-part series titled “Sacred Ground” at 7 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, starting Thursday, Aug. 13.

Leaders of the Episcopal Church have worked with several contributors in an effort to eliminate racism and discrimination. “Sacred Ground” is a 10-part curriculum that includes documentary films, videos, and assigned readings; followed by deep dialogue circles to discuss content.

The program focuses on the indigenous, Black, Latino, and Asian/Pacific American histories as they have intersected throughout the European-American stories. Participants are invited to peel away the layers contributing to our implicit (presumed) biases and the division that haunts us today.

Developed last year as part of the Episcopal Church’s long-term initiative for racial healing, reconciliation, and justice, “Sacred Ground” is intended to have an impact on personal lives, ministries and society.
