Dunkirk Man Charged After Cocaine Delivery

A Dunkirk man is facing federal charges after receiving a package with 2 pounds of cocaine via U.S. mail.

The Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force, after receiving information from the U.S. Postal Service that Hector D. Santos-Morales, 30, of 109 S. Beaver St. was going to be receiving a package with the narcotics, a brief joint investigation was conducted with the U.S. Postal Service, DEA, Drug Task Force and Dunkirk Police.

On Monday in the early afternoon hours, members of the Dunkirk special reaction team and their uniform patrol, served a search warrant on Santos-Morales’s house in the city. Once the residence was secured, members of the agencies assisted in the search. Santos-Morales was taken in to custody without incident. He was charged with attempting to possess with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of a mixture and substance containing cocaine. After his arraignment he was released under the supervision of Federal probation.
