Charter Is Taking Grant Applications

Charter Communications is taking applications for the 2020 Spectrum Digital Education Grant program from now until Friday, June 26, at 5 p.m.

The window for applications was opened early due to the financial impacts of COVID-19, which include shortfalls in funding for nonprofit organizations. The grant program, started in 2017, awards $6 million in cash grants and in-kind donations help support local broadband education through distributing laptops, building technology labs and providing online education at senior centers.

“Charter opened the Spectrum Digital Education application portal two months earlier than planned to help meet the overwhelming need from nonprofit organizations focused on providing broadband training, access and education during the COVID-19 crisis,” the company said via news release. With Covid-19 forcing many organizations to shift their services online, funding for communications training has been in high demand during the crisis.

Applications are available at corporate.charter.com/digital-education/grants.
