No One Injured After Tree Lands On Home
No one was injured after a massive tree fell onto a city home.
Members of the Jamestown Fire Department and city officials were called Thursday at 12:20 p.m. to a report of a fallen tree at 909 W. Third St. The tree was found to have uprooted and landed on the property.
The homeowner said she was working when the tree fell.
“My neighbor called,” the homeowner told The Post-Journal. “I asked, ‘Did a branch fall?’ He said, ‘No, the whole tree.’ I couldn’t believe it. Just look at it.”
The woman, who has owned the West Third Street home for about nine years, said she has worried the tree would eventually fall.
Inside, portions of the ceiling in the kitchen collapsed onto the floor.
Other parts of the ceiling buckled due to the weight of the tree on the roof.
“I was going to have my gutters fixed,” the homeowner said. “Now I’m got to have the whole kitchen remodeled too.”
Crews worked Thursday afternoon to clear debris from the property.
