Fundraiser Set To Help Find Silver Creek Resident

SUNY Fredonia graduate Sam Sayers went missing one year ago today in Washington state.

SILVER CREEK — Today marks the one-year anniversary of when State University of New York at Fredonia graduate Sam Sayers went missing from a solo mountain bike in the state of Washington.

On Saturday, during Silver Creek’s annual village wide yard sale day, a shop will be doing its part to raise funds. Mia Bella’s Consignment Boutique will be holding a sidewalk sale for out-of-season clothing and donated clothing that isn’t able to be put on the floor, with 100% of those sales being donated to Sayers’ mom’s choice charity — A21, an organization that fights to solve human trafficking.

Along with the yard sale, 20% of anything sold inside the store will be donated to this organization as well. A raffle for a store gift certificate and play passes for Just My Imagination Workshop — Parties & More is also planned.

Mia Bella’s is located at 260 Central Ave. in Silver Creek and is owned by sisters Savannah and Allison Karcz of Silver Creek.

The sisters met Sayers at Playground Theatre Camp at SUNY Fredonia many years ago and have continued to try to help find her in whatever ways possible, whether by sharing her story, personal donations, viewing video footage, etc. over the last 12 months. The boutique specializes in gently used clothing for infants through adults.

“We hope to see many community members at this event and want to do good by Sam and for this charity,” the sisters said. “But above all else we hope that Sam Sayers is found alive soon.”
