LAKEWOOD — A new fast food restaurant will be taking root on Fairmount Avenue this year.

This was announced at the March 25 Lakewood Village Board meeting by Building Inspector Jeffrey Swanson, who said an unnamed establishment will soon occupy the space in front of OfficeMax and between Ruby Tuesday and Olive Garden.

Development is expected to begin soon on this out-parcel property at the Chautauqua Mall. Wooden posts currently mark the boundaries of the incoming fast food restaurant property. Representatives from Chautauqua Mall declined to comment this week on what the restaurant is but said they will share more news soon.

Swanson said he expects to receive official site plans for the fast food project this month.
