The Seventh ChalkWalk sponsored by the Jamestown Renaissance Corp. and Jamestown Now has been canceled this year. The event would have been held to coincide with Infinity Visual and Performing Arts’ 15th Annual Local Music Showcase.

The ill health of planner and organizer Michael Dykeman and a lack of available Jamestown Now board members prompted 2018’s event to be canceled.

However, despite the setback, Jamestown Now assures the public that the event will be held in 2019. Dykeman said the ChalkWalk will be “back stronger than ever.” Potential contestants from this year are eligible for entry in 2019.

In place of this year’s canceled event, contestants are encouraged to still submit their designs for judging over Christmas. Details will be announced on the Jamestown Now Facebook page soon.
