BEMUS POINT — The Bemus Point Library was recently presented with a $1,875 donation representing part of the proceeds from the recent Guinness Chicken Wing Record Event on Aug. 11-12 at the Village Casino.

The goal of 40,000 wings sold in a 24-hour period was exceeded with community support reaching 40,520 wings sold. Steve Carlson, event coordinator, and Andrew Carlson, Village Casino owner, donated proceeds of the chicken wing event to four organizations, including the Bemus Point Library was one of the recipients.

“As a small local library, we depend on the support of our community and we are very grateful to The Village Casino for their generosity,” said Shannon Donovan, library director.

The Bemus Point Library provides books, audiobooks, e-books, DVDs, interlibrary loan services, newspapers, magazines and a local history collection. It also provides computers for public use, wi-fi, and fax services for the community. The library is open Monday, Tuesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; 1 to 5 p.m. Wednesday; Thursday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The library is a member of the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Library System.
