Community Helping Hands Names New Executive Director
Community Helping Hands has named Tami Berg its new executive director.
Berg will take over the organization’s helm on June 25. Berg will be accountable to the Community Helping Hands board for administration, community outreach, program development, quality control, long-term sustainability and strategic planning.
“I am very excited and humbled to be joining such an outstanding faith based organization” Berg said. “I look forward to continuing to increase awareness of Community Helping Hands and the Gateway Center to the greater Jamestown area by collaborating with existing partners, building new partnerships, and reaching out to the community.”
Prior to joining Community Helping Hands, Berg had served as an adult education workforce development and grant specialist with Erie 2-Chautauqua-Cattaraugus BOCES since 2013. Other positions include residential services coordinator/workforce development with Chautauqua Opportunities, and serving as mayor of Sinclairville. Berg has a bachelor’s degree in community and human services degree from the Empire State College and an associate’s of science degree from Jamestown Community College.
“Tami brings a unique blend of community experience serving many of the same people for whom we serve, and her passion for our mission is contagious to those around her,” said Elizabeth Cipolla, Community Helping Hands board chairperson. “We are thrilled to welcome her into Community Helping Hands, and look forward to all of the great things she is sure to offer.”
