No Serious Injuries In Route 60 Crash Tuesday

ELLICOTT — No serious injuries were reported in a three-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon in the town of Ellicott. State police said a sedan, driven by Timothy J. Hoyer, struck the rear of a semi tractor-trailer on Route 60 at Horton Road. The collision forced the sedan into the northbound lane, striking the side of an ALSTAR Ambulance. Hoyer told police he may have fell asleep at the time of the crash. Fluvanna firefighters were summoned to Route 60, which was briefly closed to traffic. A woman was in the ambulance at the time of the crash, but did not sustain injuries, police said.
