Police Seek Suspect In Morning Robbery

Police are investigating an armed robbery that took place early Tuesday at a Kwik Fill on West Third Street in Jamestown.

Jamestown police were investigating an armed robbery at a Third Street Kwik Fill early Tuesday. The store has been the target of several robberies in the past.

An unknown man entered the 1617 W. Third St. location around 1 a.m. wearing a bandana over his face and armed with a silver revolver.

The man took an unknown amount of money from the clerk before fleeing toward Kenmore Avenue.

“We are looking for anyone (who) may recognize the sweatshirt or clothing and may know who this is to contact us,” said Capt. Robert Samuelson of the Jamestown Police Department. “This person likely has talked to someone else about this crime. We are currently reviewing the video in its entirety, but we are confident someone knows who this suspect is.”

The store has been the target of past robberies. Victor M. Rivera III was sentenced last year to up to four years in state prison after reportedly robbing the Third Street Kwik Fill on Oct. 8, 2016, and another on Fairmount Avenue the following day. Rivera wore a mask during the robberies and left both locations with an unknown amount of money.

In November, an unidentified man took cash from the register of the Third Street store after showing a knife to a clerk around 2 a.m. No injuries were reported in any of the incidents.

A manager at the Kwik Fill declined comment Tuesday and directed questions to the company’s corporate office in Warren, Pa.

Anyone with information regarding the robbery is asked to contact Jamestown police at 483-7537 or leave a tip at 483-TIPS (8477). Information can also be left through the 411 tips cellphone app. All information is kept confidential.
