Easter Carnival Is Saturday At Safety Village

ASHVILLE — The Chautauqua Children’s Safety Education Village is hosting it’s eighth annual Easter Carnival on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the village, 2695 Route 394, Ashville, next to BOCES.

The event will take place rain or shine so dress for the weather!

Children ages 12 years and younger will be able to visit the many miniature buildings that make up the safety village to play games and win candy and prizes. There will be food and drinks available. The Safety Village Express train will be in operation, children can have their faces painted or make a craft.

The Easter Bunny will pay a visit to have his picture taken with children and will lead the Easter Parade which will start at noon. This year’s parade is sponsored by Lake Shore Savings bank, 1 S. Green Ave., Jamestown. Lake Shore Savings Bank is one of the 28 businesses that have a miniature building within the village’s grounds. Three prizes will be given to children who stand out to their judges.

There will also be a corn hole tournament sponsored by two other supporters of the Safety Village who also have miniature buildings on the grounds, Allied Fire Protection Systems Inc. and Wal-Mart. Three bikes have been donated as prizes ranging from training bikes to adult bikes. If tied, the top two scorers will return at 12:45 p.m. for a final competition.

All proceeds help the village offer hands-on training classes to children.
