The first concrete wall for a new gymnasium at Southwestern High School was lifted into place Thursday afternoon. The new gym is part of an ongoing $15.9 million capital project approved by voters in October 2015. The new gym –part of Phase 3 of the capital project — will include an athletic facility entrance and a multi-purpose or health/fitness area. The general contractor is Perry Construction Group of Erie, Pa. A groundbreaking ceremony was held in October with students and staff. The gym is expected to be completed by November 2018.
