Christmas Tree To Be Delivered Downtown Monday

Last year’s Christmas tree is delivered to City Hall. This year’s tree will arrive Monday.

Downtown will look a little more festive as the city plans to display its Christmas tree at Tracy Plaza next week.

The White Spruce will be harvested from Bergman Park on Monday morning. From there, crews from the city’s Parks, Recreation and Conservation Department, with the assistance of a crane from the Jamestown Board of Public Utilities, will load the tree and deliver it to the plaza next to City Hall.

The trailer hauling the White Spruce will be donated by Lake Shore Paving for its journey. The tree is expected to arrive downtown around 10 a.m.

BPU crews will raise the tree in place while it is secured. More than 2,500 energy saving LED lights will then be strung by park staff.
