The Chautauqua County Legislature recently presented a commendation award to the village of Falconer and Falconer Fire Department for their work during a March 22 blaze that devastated residential and commercial buildings on West Main Street. The commendation, presented by county legislators P.J. Wendel and Lisa Vanstrom, also commended the life-saving and firefighting efforts of the many other companies and agencies that assisted.
