Jamestown Man Charged In Friday Stabbing

A 40-year-old Jamestown man is facing second-degree assault and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon charges after a stabbing on Friday afternoon.

At about 1:27 p.m., officers were dispatched to an address on the north side of the city and located the victim who suffered a severe laceration to his face, needing medical attention.

Through an investigation, officers were able to identify the suspect as John A. Kellom Jr. During a verbal altercation, Kellom pulled out a knife and slashed the victim’s face before fleeing from the scene. Kellom was located at a nearby residence where officers were able to take him into custody without incident.

He was arraigned on Saturday and later remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail.
