No one was seriously injured after an SUV struck an Amish buggy Tuesday evening in the town of Kiantone.

Firefighters were alerted to the collision on Kiantone Road around 8:40 p.m.

According to Capt. Eric Balon of the New York State Police, a northbound 2019 Chevy Equinox being operated by Margaret Bortz of Russell, Pa., struck the rear of an Amish buggy, with three occupants inside. Bortz told troopers she didn’t see the buggy prior to the crash.

Two adults and a 2-year-old child were treated for minor injuries at the scene. Bortz was not injured.

Both the vehicle and buggy had to be towed from the scene; the horse did not appear to be injured.
