Fire Inside Vacant Celoron Apartment Found To Be ‘Intentionally Set’

CELORON — An investigation remains ongoing for a fire found to be “intentionally set” late Friday inside a vacant apartment in the village.

Members of the Celoron Fire Department were called around 11 p.m. for the fire discovered inside one of the units at the Chautauqua Shoreline Apartments, 75 Marine Park Dr. Volunteers with Lakewood assisted at the scene.

The county Fire Investigation Team, reviewing the incident with Celoron officials, determined the blaze was intentionally set. Members of the Fire Investigation Team are currently working with the Ellicott Police Department.
