Rising positivity rates facing Western New York also are being seen in Chautauqua County.

According to the Health Department, 86 new COVID-19 cases were reported from Friday to Sunday bringing the total number since the pandemic to 8,520. There are 159 active and seven hospitalizations while 8,219 have recovered. Seven are reported hospitalized.

Over the weekend, New York state noted that positivity rates in Western New York were the highest. According to Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s office, in Western New York the positivity rate is 4.82% — that’s above the Empire State average of 3.31.
