City Teen Found In Stolen Vehicle, Impaired Charged
A Jamestown teenager who police say was driving a stolen vehicle while impaired by drugs is facing a host of charges.
Catherine R. Bindics, 18, is scheduled to appear in Jamestown City Court after officers first observed a red sedan driving on Winsor Street Monday at 9:26 p.m. The vehicle was spotted driving at a high rate of speed and recklessly, and a check determined it had been reported stolen from an outside jurisdiction.
Following a traffic stop, Bindics was found to be operating the vehicle while impaired by the use of drugs, Jamestown police said in a news release.
The city teen was taken into custody on charges of felony fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, operating with ability impaired by drugs — first offense, reckless driving, open alcohol container in a motor vehicle, failure to signal turn and speed not reasonable or prudent.
