A Jamestown man convicted of possessing with intent to distribute methamphetamine and possessing of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime has been sentenced to more than 12 years in state prison.

Kyle Kamholtz, 33, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Richard J. Arcara.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Seth T. Molisani, who handled the case, stated that Kamholtz was identified as a methamphetamine distributor in the Jamestown area during an investigation that began in November 2017 by the Jamestown Police Department.

The investigation included a series of controlled purchases of methamphetamine from Kamholtz, several vehicle and traffic stops that resulted in Kamholtz’s arrest for possession of methamphetamine and a firearm, and the execution of two search warrants at the defendant’s McKinley Avenue residence.

Investigators reportedly seized a firearm, methamphetamine, scales, packaging and other drug distribution paraphernalia.

The sentencing is the result of an investigation by the Jamestown Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
