Crews were notified that flames were shooting from the rear of the property. Officers with the Jamestown Police Department confirmed the fire and closed the area to traffic.

Flames and heavy smoke could be seen coming from several windows in back of the home.

Firefighters rescued three small dogs from the property, Deputy Chief Sam Salemme said. The animals were put in the back of a JPD patrol vehicle to keep warm and were later claimed by their owner.

It wasn’t known if anyone was home when the fire broke out.
