(9:15 AM) City Man Charged After Domestic Incident, Fleeing From JPD

A Jamestown man faces charges after allegedly running away from Jamestown police officers following a domestic incident and fight Thursday night.

Randall K. Mesler Jr., 20, of Jamestown was charged with second-degree obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest, aggravated family offense and first-degree criminal contempt Thursday. City police responded to a reported fight at 32 Broadhead Ave. at 9:34 p.m. Thursday and, while attempting to make contact with someone at the door, saw a man jump out of a window in an attempt to get away from officers. The man led officers on a foot pursuit after he was told to stop, eventually losing officers near Broadhead and Prather avenues. K-9 Promber was used to track the man, eventually finding him hiding in a car in a parking lot at 116 S. Main St.

Police report Mesler refused to get out of the vehicle when he was found by K-9 Promber and allegedly resisted arrest. In addition to charges from Thursday’s incident, Mesler had an outstanding probation warrant. He was taken to the Jamestown City Jail until he could be arraigned.
