(11:50 AM) Sheriff’s Deputies, Firefighters Respond To Early Morning Boat Crash In Sunset Bay

SUNSET BAY – At around 2:30 a.m. this morning the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office and the Sunset Bay Volunteer Fire Company #1 were dispatched for a boat that had crashed into the breakwall unknown if any injuries.

The Fire Company posted on its Facebook page that C192 and sheriff deputies were first to reach the boat but unable to locate anyone. Under the command of Chief Rob Weiskerger the area was searched the area for almost three hours before the search was called off.

According to the fire company, the operator, who was not identified, was later located by state troopers and sheriff’s deputies.
