Multiple crashes have been reported throughout Chautauqua County as snow moves into the region.

A crash between a sedan and SUV occurred at the intersection of Bennett Road and Vineyard Drive in Dunkirk. According to the New York State Police, a Ford Escape, driven by Dunkirk resident Jeffrey Strauss, attempted a left-hand turn onto the thruway. Strauss told troopers he misjudged the road due to glare from the road and turned into the path of a Chrysler 300, driven by Fredonia resident Susan Kurgan.

Strauss and Kurgan were both taken to Brooks Memorial Hospital with minor injuries, Capt. Eric Balon of the New York State Police said.

Elsewhere, Kiantone firefighters were called to a vehicle into a utility pole on Kiantone Road near Riverside Road. Minor injuries were reported in the incident.

Sherman firefighters also responded to a crash, this one on Interstate 86.

Around 11:30 a.m., Sinclairville and Gerry first responders were called to a car into a tree near 2642 Old Chautauqua Road.

Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, Wyoming and southern Erie counties remain under a winter storm warning through 6 p.m. Thursday. The National Weather Service in Buffalo said the area could see an additional 8 to 15 inches of snow.
