MAYVILLE – Big Fish Triathlon Coalition members raised $6,500 with the 12th annual Big Fish Triathlon, held in June at Mayville Lakeside Park.

The donation supported Camp Onyahsa’s week of camping for children with Type 1 diabetes. The triathlon has raised more than $200,000 over the course of 12 years.

During their stay, children with diabetes get to enjoy all the camps fun traditional activities, in addition to enhanced health care from a specialized team of nurses, pharmacists, pump experts and counselors who provide supervision and allow parents one week out of the year to relax with the knowledge that their children are in a safe environment away from home. The Triathlon Coalition that hosts the race is all volunteers and has worked to build a network of community support to provide the athletes with a top quality, nationally sanctioned event that gives local and visiting athletes a challenging event while enjoying the natural beauty of our community. For their entry fee, athletes receive a wide assortment of locally made products, prizes, and awards to commemorate their efforts.

The BigFish Triathlon’s 13th rendition will be held on June 13, 2026. For more information visit www.bigfishtri.com.

Starting at $3.50/week.
