The Culinary Arts program at the LoGuidice Educational Center once again helped to fill some Empty Bowls.

Under the guidance of Chef David Caccamise, students made about 650 chocolate chip cookies that were delivered ahead of a recent fundraiser at Wheelock Early Childhood Center in Fredonia.

“It’s great to once again provide support for such a great cause,” Caccamise said.

Hundreds of handmade bowls, many created by local potters, were made available at the Empty Bowls event. All funds donated for the bowls went to food pantries located in Chautauqua County.

In the past, Caccamise and his Culinary Arts students have made various soups for the fundraiser. This year’s event featured cookies provided by Erie 2-Chautauqua-Cattaraugus BOCES as well as coffee, hot chocolate, and tea.
