Ehrman Wins First Place In Graphic Arts At 2023 Digie Awards For 2nd Time

Isabella Ehrman, a seventh-grader at Southwestern Middle School, has won first place in the Graphic Arts category at the 2023 Digie Awards for the second year in a row. This year’s winning artwork titled “Self-Portrait” was submitted by Tina Clark, Southwestern Middle School art teacher. The portrait was created as an assignment based on the Pop Art movement. The Digies, a yearly conference and festival organized by the School Library Service, which is part of Genesee Valley BOCES, aims to enhance the connection between digital media across various educational levels, from pre-kindergarten through 12th grades schools to higher education and professional institutions. The Digies showcases the talent and potential of students through an annual festival, attracting entries from the region. Entries can come from schools, public libraries, and arts councils in Western New York. Isabella and her portrait are pictured.
