Southwestern Middle School students of the month.

Southwestern Middle School officials have named the school’s Students of the Month for December. They are:

¯ Jack Irons, sixth grade and the son of Joseph and Julie Irons of Lakewood. His favorite subjects are science, math and gym. Jack plays on the Southwestern Rec basketball, football and baseball teams and is also the manager of Southwestern modified basketball team. Outside of school, beside playing on the Southwestern rec teams, he plays on the Gladiators baseball team, likes to hunt, do art and ride his dirt bikes.

¯ Leala Carlson, seventh grade and the daughter of Heather Meyer of Jamestown and Gregory Carlson of Lakewood. Her favorite subject is social studies. Leala is on the Southwestern girls cross country team and she will be trying out for the modified girls softball team. She is a member of the Southwestern Tech Crew for the spring musical. When Leala is not in school, she likes to play games on her phone and go to the gym.

¯ Dorian Weaver, eighth grade and the son of Kendra and Anthony Weaver of Jamestown. His favorite subject is math. Dorian is a member of Southwestern Student Council, Ski and DND Clubs and plays trumpet in band. Outside of school, he likes to play video games, build plastic models, read, and spend time with his family and his cat.
