Reg Lenna To Screen Two Films

Devotion and School of Rock will be shown this week at the Reg Lenna Center for The Arts.

Devotion (Wednesday at 7 p.m.) is an aerial war epic based on the bestselling book of the same name and tells the inspirational true story of two elite US Navy fighter pilots who helped turn the tide in the most brutal battle in the Korean War: Jesse Brown, the first Black aviator in Navy history and his fellow fighter pilot and friend, Tom Hudner. Their sacrifices and enduring friendship would ultimately make them the Navy’s most celebrated wingmen. Devotion is rated PG-13 and is 139 minutes long.

In School of Rock, (Sunday at 2:30 p.m.) Jack Black stars as a hell-raising guitarist with delusions of grandeur. Kicked out of his band and desperate for work, he impersonates a substitute teacher and turns a class of fifth grade high-achievers into high-voltage rock and rollers. Joan Cusack portrays the principal of the private school where Black is prepping the kids for a Battle of the Bands. School of Rock is rated PG-13 and is 109 minutes long. The film is being shown free to the public immediately following a 2 p.m. Palace Theater Centennial Kickoff Celebration.

Upcoming Movies at The Reg include the Academy Award Best Picture nominee, All Quiet on the Western Front, Wednesday, Feb. 8, at 7 p.m.

Tickets to Movies at The Reg are $7 for movies and $6 for family films, with an additional $1 theater restoration fee added. Special movie engagements are priced differently.
