Fire of Love and Where the Crawdads Sing will be shown this week at the Reg Lenna Center for The Arts.

Fire of Love (Wednesday at 7 p.m.) is a new documentary from National Geographic. Katia and Maurice Krafft loved two things — each other and volcanoes. For two decades, the daring French volcanologist couple roamed the planet, chasing eruptions and documenting their discoveries. Ultimately, they lost their lives in a 1991 volcanic explosion. Director Sara Dosa and the filmmaking team fashion a lyrical celebration of the intrepid scientists’ spirit of adventure, drawing from the Kraffts’ spectacular archive. Fire of Love is rated PG and is 93 minutes long.

Where the Crawdads Sing (Saturday at 8 p.m.) tells the story of Kya, an abandoned girl who raised herself to adulthood in the dangerous marshlands of North Carolina. For years, rumors of the “Marsh Girl” haunted Barkley Cove, isolating the sharp and resilient Kya from her community. Drawn to two young men from town, Kya opens herself to a new and startling world; but when one of them is found dead, she is immediately cast by the community as the main suspect. Where the Crawdads Sing is rated PG-13 and is 125 minutes long.
