JHS Senior Receives Zonta Scholarship

Jenna Stockwell

In April 2021, Jenna Stockwell, a senior at Jamestown High School, was awarded the Nell Newton Scholarship from Zonta Club of Jamestown.

The $1,000 award is based upon merit and need and is presented to a female student who is furthering her education with the intention of making business her profession.

Stockwell is a freshman at Alabama University where she is participating in a work study program with the men’s basketball team. She is calculating player statistics and learning how to utilize analytics involved in basketball. Stockwell would like to pursue a career in sports analytics at both the collegiate and professional levels. In addition to her classwork and assignment with the basketball team, Jenna is finding time to pursue another passion, dance. She joined a hip-hop dance team!

The Zonta Club of Jamestown is looking forward to hearing from young women in the class of 2022 in all Chautauqua County school districts and Randolph Central School, as we award scholarships again this year. Please find the application forms for Nell Newton and Mary Bargar scholarships and Zonta International’s scholarship, Young Women in Public Affairs, on our website: zontajamestown.org.
