Vanstrom Seeks Re-Election To Legislature

Lisa Vanstrom

Lisa Vanstrom is running for re-election to the Chautauqua County Legislature in District 15, representing the town of Ellicott south of Interstate 86, including the villages of Celoron and Falconer.

Vanstrom has been endorsed by the Republican and Conservative parties and leads the Republican Caucus as assistant majority leader. She serves on the Chautauqua County Legislature Administrative Services Committee, an appointed member of the Chautauqua County Soil and Water Conservation District, the Chautauqua County Traffic Safety Advisory Board and the Chautauqua Lake Rehabilitation and Protection Agency.

Vanstrom is a life-long Chautauqua County resident. She graduated from Dunkirk High School, and earned a bachelor’s degree from the State University at Fredonia. She is employed by the state Senate as a constituent specialist for Sen. George Borrello.

Her career began in the mid 1990s as a staff member for the late Senator Jess Present, followed by Senator Pat McGee, and most previously with Sen. Cathy Young. Vanstrom has spent many years helping solve community and constituent issues. In addition, her experience as an Ellicott councilwoman also has allowed her to work, on behalf of our taxpayers, to hold the line on property taxes while protecting vital services.

During Vanstrom’s tenure on the legislature, she supported legislation for the study and current management of Chautauqua Lake for recreation and sport, she fought for the fly-car system, which has provided life-saving service for residents throughout the county, and supported the county’s innovative Workforce Development and Economic Development initiatives.

“I am strongly committed to preserving and protecting our lakes and waterways, through the effective efforts with the Chautauqua County Soil and Water Conservation District, led by David Spann. These valuable natural assets are also economic engines and sources of outstanding recreation and quality of life for our residents. Additionally, I am committed to protecting the rights and activities of our county sportsmen and women; I strongly support our county’s enhanced Veterans Services, and our critically important senior citizens programs,” Vanstrom said.

Vanstrom and her family live in West Ellicott.
