SOUTH DAYTON — The Pine Valley Drama Club will perform The Hello Girls at 7 p.m. May 21.

After the club’s show had to be canceled last year due to the pandemic mere weeks before show night, the students were excited to get the green light for The Hello Girls this year. The directors, cast, and crew members have worked to provide a safe environment to put on a musical.

The Hello Girls is a musical that follows the stories of the first women to join the U.S. Armed Forces during World War I as switchboard operators and their fight to make this way to the front lines. It is a modern retelling of a critical part of history in the struggle for women’s rights.

Tickets are available at pvdc.booktix.com. By purchasing a digital stream link viewers will be given access to view the professionally recorded production. Viewers can also purchase concession stand items that would normally be sold at live shows. All food items can be picked up on May 21 between 4 and 6 p.m. at Pine Valley High School.

The Pine Valley Drama Club is also hosting a chicken barbecue with Weidner’s BBQ on May 21 between 4 and 6 p.m. at Pine Valley High School. Those interested can preorder dinners until May 14 at pvdc.booktix.com for $12.

The pvdc.booktix.com website has bundled packages for the show, chicken dinners and concession stand.
