Community Bank Set To Close Branch Lobbies

Community Bank N.A. announced it will close all branch lobbies and operate solely through available drive-throughs beginning today. The decision is due to the “evolving situation of COVID-19,” the company announced.

All branch lobbies will be available by appointment only, including locations with and without drive-throughs.

“We believe this decision is both conservative and prudent considering the current information the CDC has provided about COVID-19,” said Hal Wentworth, Community Bank N.A. senior vice president for retail banking. “We appreciate our customers’ continued support and understanding in this difficult time of uncertainty. Together, we can all do our part to help protect our local communities.”

Community Bank’s ATMs and secure night depositories will remain available during this time. Additionally, the bank’s online, mobile and phone banking options will allow customers the convenience of banking from home. Online and mobile banking tools provide 24/7 digital account access and the ability to transfer funds, check account balances and activity, pay bills and more.

Community Bank has locations in Jamestown, Falconer, Westfield, Randolph, Sherman, Ripley, Cassadaga, Dunkirk and Silver Creek.

A similar announcement was made last week by Northwest Bank.

Access to all Northwest branch lobbies are limited to appointment only during normal business hours to control the number of people any one time.
