Christmas Trees Being Sold To Raise Care Package Funding

The Veterans of Modern Warfare Chapter 20 is selling Christmas trees to raise money to send care packages overseas.

The trees start at $20 donation starting Friday at 11 a.m. until sold out. Trees will be for sale Monday through Thursday from 3 to 7 p.m. and Friday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. in front of Harley Davidson of Jamestown at the intersection of Route 394 and Interstate 86.

All proceeds are benefiting the Veterans of Modern Warfare Chapter 20 in their efforts to help the Blue Star Mothers send Christmas care packages to troops overseas and donating to local veterans in need. The Blue Star Mothers will also be accepting donations inside Harley Davidson and at the tree lot during Christmas tree sales.

Veterans of Modern Warfare Chapter 20 works to recruit and inform local veterans of benefits and maintain the integrity that no veteran will be left behind or forgotten. The organization includes veterans and volunteer members.

“Our veterans’ organization remains dedicated to assisting veteran’s past, present and future,” said Joe Paladino, Veterans of Modern Warfare Chapter 20 president. “If someone needs direction to services, someone to talk to, or just to see brothers and sisters with a common bond, we are here for them because we are in the same situation or have been in a similar situation. We work to reach out and let our servicemen/women know how much they are appreciated, respected and loved here at home and that we will be here for them when they return home. The packages being sent are a comfort from home that shows them the communities back home support them and care about them. The more we can send, the more comfort they receive. It lets them feel just a little bit closer to home.”
