Southwestern Holds Moving-Up Ceremony

Clad in “I Survived Fifth-Grade Quarantine” T-shirts and personal protective equipment, staff and administration of Southwestern Central School gathered Tuesday for a drive-through style moving-up ceremony for students heading to middle school. Amid ongoing parking lot improvements, a steady stream of patient families passed by in their vehicles. The fifth-graders hopped out to collect year-end packets to the cheers of their teachers and continuous honks from school buses. Over the course of an hour on a beautiful and very warm spring day, dozens of students paused for a photo with the Mighty Trojan mascot before waving their final good-bye to Southwestern Elementary School.
